Before I adopted my ferret Phoebe at the Champaign County Humane Soctiety, I had noticed she was under weight and losing hair, she had adrenal disease, common in ferrets. I then inquired how much it would cost for the surgery. The CCHS call A&E to find out, He said how much and that he would do the $1,000 procedure at NO COST! because It would increase her chances of being adopted, and it did I adopted her and her sister. She has a great life compared to the Ya-Ya that dumped her and her siblings in a cardboard box. My 2.8lbs (formerly less than 1lb) Pheobe is a beautiful healthy farret thanks to Dr. Brummet and the A&E staff.
