I changed a violin bridge there and got ripped off. The store charged $170.50. After replacing the bridge I asked the owner about the price. He said they used an aged Aubert bridge and the labor charge for putting the new bridge was over $100, citing his qualifications on violin maintenance. The price also included 10% charge for the same day pick-up. I found that even an old Aubert bridge(1900's) is around $40(others cost around $20) and other store charges around $40 for labor if you don't change the sound post. I have been a client of the store last 10 years and we bought 3 violins from there so trusted the store. If the store provided me with the breakdown of the price before the service I would have considered other options. My son have to play next day I didn't have a chance to get help from others. I don't see the employees who used to help us and it looks that the atmosphere of the store is changed a lot. I suggest to check the price for any kind of repair work
