I am not sure where to start one this one but let's start with the positives.
1- The scenery from the stable to the beach is awesome.
2- The price is relatively cheap.
As for the negatives:
1- The beach is filthy. There was a floating mattress, a pair of shoes, a dead bird, a couple of dead seals, and junk all along the beach.
2- This place is unsafe for beginners. We were all beginners and I told the ranch that: on the phone, when we first got to the ranch and when we mounted the horses. My horse for example does not stop or turn when asked to. The only thing it will do is follow any horse in front of it. This is safe only if the guide is the person in front. Unfortunately we had an irresponsible guide (Zack I believe his name was) who as soon as we got to the beach refrained from taking the lead so the horses started running and a couple of people almost fell.
3- Last but not least our guide had a filthy raci$t mouth. He thought that we were running the horses on purpose and not because they got out of control! I'll just list some of his remarks and let you judge if you would like to hear them on your next trail ride:
""Bullsh##""
""You f### pi$$ me off""
""You damn Eye-ranians riding your camels"" (BTW, we are not from Iran)
And finally ""make sure you write your nationality when leaving the review""
I have been in the US/Canada for over 10 years and I have never heard such raci$t remarks. It was a disappointment!
Anyhow, as I said before I believe the guide's name was Zack.
For anyone who is interested in a professional trial ride on the beach, I would recommend ""Sea Horse Ranch"" at Half Moon Bay.
Pros: Price
Cons: Racism, Safety
