We are the original owners of a 10 year old Standard Pacific Home that has air conditioning put in by Aliso Air. The coils were installed with shoddy workmanship causing leaks in the attic and damaging the ceiling. To just repair the coils it will cost us $3000 to repair. Aliso Air only warranties its labor for a year and equipment for 5 years. Since the equipment is in the attic, there was no easy way for anyone to detect the leaks all these years unless we go into the attic on a regular basis. This should be a warning to the homeowner.
We called for help and Aliso was no help from a cost or service standpoint, choosing to stand by the letter of its policies. They went so far as to suggest that someone might have gone in and damaged the coils (highly unlikely). Aliso Air did poor work when this was installed about 10 years ago and was unwilling to even discount its services for fixing their screw up. Lesson learned is for homeowners to go up in your attic to verify the quality of their work.
