Our first and last trip to Frankies 8/15/2009

First impressions: These cheap pikers will not give a dine-in customer a cup of water with a meal. They make you buy bottled water or pop. We go to a lot of restaurants in the area. This is the only place where they refuse to give a customer water. Getting water at Frankies is also a problem in the bathrooms. The hot water spigots were completely shut off, only cold available. And there was no soap in either the mens or womens bathroom. Since employees were using the same bathrooms, you have to wonder about the sanitation practices in Frankie's kitchen as well. What a gross and sickening thought! (Maybe the Oak Lawn village needs to check for sanitation violations overall if this is how Frankie keeps its bathrooms.) The counter and kitchen help (in full view) look like refugees from a truck stop. A rather unsavory bunch to say the least! My friend and I had the Italian chicken sandwiches, which was better than expected considering the minimal attractiveness of the surroundings. The large order of fries was overcooked and only fair. And the amount was small. Customers gauge how a restaurant feels about it's customers by the little things. Frankies gives the bare minimum. There are a lot of better - and cleaner - fast food places in the area to grab a meal. Unless you're a caveman, don't bother stopping here. Pros: Sandwich was better than the atmosphere Cons: No soap or hot water in bathrooms. Won't serve free water more
