My grandparents recently took their child...a 11 year old cat into this clinic who ended up with a 103 fever and a draining tube. The vet made smart remarks about leaving him there all weekend with no one around and that he was just going fishing. They also said that the kitty could be picked up at 10 when in actually it could have been picked up at 8:00. The vet may have been joking, but when it comes to your kids being very sick it is just bad taste to make such jokes.
