Elgin Public House is my idea of an excellent place to grab a bite to eat. Classic bar. Classic bar food. But with enough creative items on the menu to keep you from getting bored. I love walking by at lunchtime and smelling whatever is being grilled.
Fresh burgers made to order -- and they know what rare means. Want a treat? Get the seared tuna sandwich. Their cole slaw is absolutely superb. Their pulled pork sandwich is excellent. I've never had anything less than great here. Great beers. Friendly service.
My only complaint is that with large groups they seem to get a little flustered and can't handle it. But otherwise, highly recommended.
