Overpriced 5/13/2009

I shopped at this store for over 6 years and always left with a cart load of wonderful finds. The last few times I've gone, I've left empty handed. Recently, I've stopped going all together. I watched the price of paperback books rise from .99 to 3.99. I saw the price of toys go from decent thrift store prices to, in some cases, 19.99. I'm not talking about collector items or fantastic finds like an American girl doll or similar. I'm talking about your basic Disney princess electronic toy. 19.99! That's crazy. I spoke to the manager about it and she seemed completely unconcerned. The quantity and quality of the merchandise in general has gone down hill drastically. The adult and children's clothing sections are meager compared to Goodwill. I agree with the other reviewers about the employees seeming miserable and withdrawn and about the deplorable state of the restrooms. I had to take my potty-training toddler to the lady's room (I use that term loosely.) and I was appalled at it's filthy, run-down condition. I can't believe that a store would find that acceptable for customer use, and I'm saddened that the employees are forced to work in those conditions. There's just no excuse for it. The shopping carts and dressing rooms are awful, but I was willing to put up with them while I was finding great things at reasonable prices. Now this store is just not worth the hassle and the depressing shopping conditions. Cons: Overpriced, dreary more
