Dr. Nantz was my dentist for over 20 years, and she provided excellent service at a competitive price. But now her fees for routine dental maintenance work far exceeds charges made by other dentist in the same area. For example, the most recent (3/30/09) charge for routine cleaning was $ 125 for the work performed by the hygenist, plus $ 38 for the 30 second ""oral exam"" made by the doctor, for a total of $ 163.00 . I have paid this much for the so called ""deep cleaning"", but this was not deep cleaning, it was routine cleaning. I checked with other dentists in my area and they all quoted less than $ 100.00 for the same service. In addition, her new hygenist is not as skilled as the one that preceeded her. I hate to do this after all these years, but now I am looking for a new dentist, and so is my wife.
