New patient contacted Allergy Associates regarding possible food allergies. Asked to complete extensive questionaire prior to visit and after evaluation doctor suggested food allergy test same day. I agreed but my mistake to ""assume"" fee would be reasonable. At no time did doctor or staff disclose to me the high cost of test. Had to take out a small loan when leaving when surprised with an $869 bill for test and doctor visit. Took all of 10 minutes for aide to adminster skin test. Plus I did not receive any detailed report of what foods I had been tested when I checked out and had to call back and request it be mailed to me. Doctor also requested add'l testing of 16 foods via lab work. When I called lab to inquire about cost prior to, told it would be another $984. Felt I had been robbed. Be forwarned!!
