Well, we've only been renting from Mainlander for about 2 weeks now and they have already made a negative impression. From the lag in returning phone calls to the million hoops we had to jump through to get into this house to the condition it was in when we moved in to the surly attitude of the staff ....I could go on and on. We paid a $300 cleaning deposit. I have no idea why. The house was not clean when we moved in. Sure, it wasn't a dump like some people have said on here, but it was not CLEAN, and surely not $300 worth of clean. Major appliances have needed to be replaced, and the process was a nightmare. Basically it took us screaming at MaryAnn and demanding money back to get a response. The property condition report was a joke...it was randomly detailed in some areas and left a ton of stuff out in others. A maintenance worker who was at the house said to me, ""I noticed some peeling wallpaper in the bathroom...make sure you note that in your condition report and get it back to them ASAP, because they'll get you for anything and everything when you move out."" GOOD ADVICE from what I have read in other people's reviews...I made sure to go over this place with a fine toothed comb! Anyway, so far, I am NOT impressed. For all of the money and BS we had to go through to get this house, we're sure not getting treated like we're valued tenants. And I agree...MaryAnn IS a disaster. She is so rude and has zero personality. She acts like you're stupid when you talk to her...even when you ask her a direct question. Example: ""MaryAnn, our stove and oven do not work and havent worked since we moved in. Its been 3 days since we called and we've heard nothing back."" ""Well I told the guy to call you."" WHO? WHAT GUY? WHY is he calling us? Why arent YOU calling us? Why are we not being kept updated on what is going on? AND, if something as major as the stove/oven are not working, WHYYY arent you taking the responsibility to see to it, not shoving it off on some appliance company that you've contracted? Give me a freaking break. Pros: large selection of homes Cons: you're renting from people who do not care about you. more
