I found an animal at this shelter 6 years ago, a Newfoundland mix, that is still a loyal companion. I recommend them, or any animal shelter, when searching for a pet. With an open mind, and a strong dose of reality, these animals are best friends waiting to happen. It has been my experience that this shelter does a fine job in spite of funding and staffing issues. If you do choose to select a pet at full-price pet stores or breeders, you can still buy pet supplies and food at the shelter, and give their animals a monetary boost for food and care while they wait their turn for a loving home.
