My children have been seen at Douglas Pediatrics since 1989. Our doctor is Dr. Gene Barrett. He is a wonderful caring doctor who takes time to listen to my concerns and interacts with my children and listens to them as well, which is important to me. We do have to wait a long time in the waiting room to get seen but it is because he takes time with each patient rather than rushing through so it is worth the wait to me. I have also seen Dr. Harkins as well as he is also a caring thorough doctor. I have not had good experiences with the newer doctors. They don't seem to have good 'bedside manner' so to speak and are in too big a hurry to diagnose something and shove a RX at you.
Due to the extreme growth in the area, the office is not that easy to get in and out of. They have been at that office for a very long time and the decor and upkeep of the waiting area and rooms unfortunately show it! I wish they would find a new location for the practice.
Pros: friendly office staff, great doctors
Cons: long wait times, waiting room needs updating/renovations
