I visited Nancy at Like No Other Cakes, months before my wedding, for a cake testing. Her cake was delicious and she was a very nice lady. She even let me take some cake home for my fiancee to try. I decided to go with Like No Other Cakes for my wedding cake. On my visit at the cake testing Nancy quoted me $250.00 for a cake to serve 75 people. About a month before my wedding my Mother stopped by the cake shop to let Nancy feel how heavy my cake topper was and my mom overheard Nancy telling another customer she is going to be focusing on pies now. I then called her to go over the final details and finalize everything to make sure we were on the same page. Nancy then told me the final amount of the cake was going to be $370. When I replied by telling her she quoted me $250, she denied ever having said that, and said she didn't write that down anywhere so I've got to pay the $370. I said ok (thinking I won't have time to find another cake place, especially since I live out of town). I then called Nancy 2 weeks before the wedding to see if she could send me something in writing garrenting that if I am not satified with the cake she will give me some sort of refund. I learned my lesson the first time. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING WITH THIS WOMAN. Nancy ""freaked out"" and was incrediably unprofessional as she yelled at me telling me she has a good reputation and in 37 years has never had a complaint. She thought I didn't have confidence in her making my cake so said I should go somewhere else. I told her I love her cake and think she will do great but you never know what is going to happen and because of the $250 ordeal I would like something in writing. It ended with her still yelling and me hanging up. Now I am stuck, 2 weeks befvore my wedding trying to find another baker who is actually available.
