Shake Rag Tn was established in the 1850's near what is now the intersection's of Shelby Road and Rankin branch. The store was was dismanteled plank by plank and moved approximatley 2.5 miles durring the early 1900's as DuPont powder works bought the property. The store was Re-assembled at West Union Rd and Rankin branch. The population ""44&1/2"" did not appear untill 1969 while the ""Mayor""
