I love the Book Lady, the store, and the ""lady"" herself! I've been going there for years and it is always a great experience. It's usually the highlight of our shopping day. I was shocked when I read that others didn't have a good experience. She's always been friendly to me and my children. She has doughnut holes, water, toys, stuffed animals, ect. which, to me, speaks ""kid friendly."" No, she doesn't have a computerized system with all the books listed, but that's part of the fun. If you don't have time to plunder around some, then come back when you do have time. It's not hopeless. She does have a system. One more good thing about the Book Lady is that she gives a discount to home-schoolers. Try it... I promise you try it again.\r
