Joe's makes the closest thing you can get to West Coast-style burgers in New York City. The burgers feature thick, rich patties prepared and cooked right before your eyes. The lettuce and tomatoes taste fresher than at other fast food joints and the thick, seasoned fries are a refreshing departure from the wimpy processed ones at McDonald's and Burger King. Don't get me wrong - Joe's is strictly fast food and nothing fancy (the unappealing and minimal decor of the place are testament to that), but the food is solid, hearty, good old-fashioned greasy fare the way it should be. The place gets extra points for its innovative computer-generated deals that allow you to buy extra goodies like cookies and shakes at discount prices just for rounding up your total to the next dollar. I have no idea how the McDonald's and Burger King across the street are able to stay in business with Joe's right there. Joe's is head and shoulders above the big chains and I hope they open more franchises in the city soon.
Pros: Food, Special Deals
Cons: Third-World decor, Service was a little slow, Slightly more expensive than McDonald's (but well worth it)
