One of my cats has always been sickly so I find my self at the vets pretty often. One Saturday I saw him acting very sick so I rushed him to an Emergency Vet. It was so impersonal and sterile (not in the good way) that they didn't even allow me in the examination room with my cat. They sedated him and gave him x-rays, the whole time I could hear him yowling from the lobby. The x-rays showed nothing so they suggested a treatment plan involving IV's, more x-rays, an endoscopy and surgury. The bill would've been in the thousands. I told them I'd have to wait and get a second opinion, paid the 300 dollar bill already racked up and left. On Monday I took him to the Camas Washougal Animal Hospital, were they petted and talked to my cat, said he had a repritory virus, gave me some shots to administer and made a follow up appointment. The whole process cost 100 dollars and my cat was better within the week. After that experience I would never go anywhere else for treatment for my sickly cat. They have even treated my large animals and don't mind when I bring sheep into their office. They know me, they know my cat's medical history and remember me when I go in.
Pros: welcoming, kind staff who clearly love animals
Cons: I live in Portland, they are in Washougal
