My mother with terminal lung cancer was brought to St. luke's ER. The doctor and his resident were fine; everything else was not. The hospital needs urgent renovation. Personnel is indifferent and incompetent. They misspelled my mother's name in their computer system and then could not find her. After my mother has been moved to the general ward, it became really bad. They have no monitoring equipment, had to bring it from somewhere else to measure her pulse and pressure! I could not believe it, it's like a third world country. No chairs, tiny, uncomfortable and dirty space, dirty bathrooms, the nurses are not even able to put a pressure mask properly. They brought some food and left it without saying a word. Lower personnel mostly go around occupied with their own business, chatting in the corners all the time. No courtesy, no smiles. A child with no supervision plays in the hallway. I would never believe such a place existed in the middle of Manhattan.
Pros: Good doctors at ER
Cons: Personnel, lack of equipment, decrepit place overall
