Animal Control picks up stray animals and takes them to Rantoul water plant where they are kept in terrible conditions until they are put to sleep. The cages are dirty and small and these animals have no hope once they enter the water plant facilites.The water company employees provide the care for them but it is given only when they have time. Thus they are given limited water and food, they have no access to vet care, some of them are hurt when they are picked up but with NO vet care, they suffer until their time is up and they are euthanised. Why is this allowed to continue? Where are the animal rights groups? Why is the Dept of Ag. letting this practice continue. For Shame, Rantoul!!!! You are using water that comes from a plant that , for years, has let the stray animals in your area, suffer and die. Until a few years ago the water company employees were the ones to end the animals life in a old gas machine. They would put dogs and cats in together to save time and money. After repeated complaints, the Dept of Ag went out there and saw the way the animals were suffering for as long as 15 minutes in this old machine before dying. He made the village of Rantoul hire a vet to euthanise them. However, the animals are still suffering and the mayor and the village board know this is happening. Please avoid shopping in this town until Rantoul can treat their stray animals in a humane way. Check this out for yourself and then Pass the word about Rantoul!!!
