I'm pretty selective when it comes to restaurants, so any restaurant that has bad service automatically is scratched off my list of restaurants worth recommending. However, I made an exception today - for Orange Hill Mother's Day Brunch. Because I had made reservations a month in advance, I didn't want to cancel, although I was so tempted. When I called to confirm my reservation, the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. \r

I don't care whether she had PMS or if she is a miserable human being at all times, when you are hired to offer good customer service, you better leave your bad attitude at home.\r
Anyway, I hoped that her rudness was not contagious and that other staff members would be courteous the next day. \r

Needless to say, I expected the worst (I had very low expectations), but was determined to enjoy the holiday with my family. To my surprise, the experience was wonderful (I did avoid the front desk women - I could see that they were surly and some flustered - probably from the hectic schedule they had on Mother's Day). \r

The restaurant has a beautiful view, the food was in abundance (what you would expect from a brunch) and luckily the waiter was so nice (Dave or David). Not sure if all the other waiters are as nice and professional as he was, but I was happy to meet him. Just a quick note: their regular brunch does not offer as many selctions as they prepare on special holidays - but I'm sure you'll have enough to eat from a variety of foods (meats, seafood, omlettes, desserts), etc. \r

I will go back again, next time for dinner - check out their patio and fire pits/side table. You'll be hearing from me for sure if my next culinary experience is unsavory. By the way, this brunch was 10 times better than the St. Regis brunch and less expensive.
