I took a friend to the lunch-time buffet at the House of Tibet so that she could sample several types of Tibetan food, with which she was unfamiliar. The restaurant was nearly empty (4 - 6 customers while we were there), but even so there was almost no choice of food at the buffet table - mainly spiced potatoes and dumplings. No one seemed to be checking on the dishes or actively replenishing them. The restaurant is very poor value when compared with several excellent Indian lunch-time buffets in the metropolitan area and, while I am keen to support our exiled Tibetan community, I shall not recommend it to my friends. Incidentally, my American Express card was not accepted, and anyone who thinks 1300 South is in or near Salt Lake's ""theater district"" does not know the city! (despite ""Restaurant info"" in left-hand sidebar).
