I was a dance parent at DP for many years. The studio is located in a nice building with proper dance floors which prevent children from getting hurt. The instruction in all areas of dance are pretty good with the exception of the ballet program the years I was at DP. The soloists of the studio at that time were encouraged to take outside ballet classes. I have been informed by parent currently at DP that new teacher has improved the ballet program. Regarding Ed Phelan, he was a very good choreographer but not a great teacher. He was wonderful to your child if they were one of the ""stars"" of the studio. If not, he barely would recognize your child. The studio is only a ""money pit"" if your child is part of the competion team. They do have numerous fund raisers for parents to help pay competion costs. Yearly recital is at Ovens and it is a ""family friendly"" show. Overall, a good competiton studio which means dancers are taught to dance a 3 minute routine, not how to perform.
