My family says, ?If you want quantity, go to Los Cuates, but if you want quality, go to Padilla's!? For real New Mexican food for a fair price, Padilla's is still the best in Albuquerque. The portions are just right, and the red chile and the sopapillas are terrific. This is where locals like me go for the kind of New-Mexican, home-style cooking that I used to eat at my abuela's or at my tia's house before they recently passed away. I?ve been a New Mexican all my life, but I find that it's difficult to find authentic New Mexican food--even in New Mexico, because there are so many places that try to please the tourists (no offense to our visitors to the Land of Enchantment). If you want a fancy Mexican place, you won?t find it at Padilla?s, but if you?re the sort of person that likes to eat good food and feel at home while you?re eating, you?ll enjoy Padilla?s.
