I have been a fan of Rudy's in Austin since the early 90's and was very excited to introduce it to my children when the Spring location opened. My son and I stopped in on March 13th at 5:30 after a track meet and ordered to go. \r
Store was very busy which usually means that any food left over from lunch has been burned through or the shift change would have replenished with new. My number one pet peeves of all .......are bad baked potatoes. \r
If someone is going to take on the daunting task of having them on the menu there is a very simple process in the businees that insures freshness ( Steak N Ale refined the process) and it is very simple.\r
Enough or I could go on and on!\r
Bottom line is I got home and had a burnt baked potato that was not edible. I even have pictures! The colslaw was dry and the waterery dressing was at the bottom of the container, another bad system Rudy does not follow that checks recipe procedure and someone trained also watching how something is mixed and then portioned....etc........\r
Barbeque, baked potaoes, and coleslaw are very straight forward products which are either fresh or not and Rudy's is missing some very basic fundamentals in a brand new store. Sorry guys! Good luck!
