My husband and I are on a quest to find our favorite burger in Chicagoland area. Since we saw Hackney's on the Food Network, we couldn't wait to go there and try it. I don't know how the other locations are but Palos was horrible!! I asked for my inside-out burger to be medium-rare. I like my burger a little pink inside. It was completly raw!! The smell was horrible, like spoiled meat that is microwaved. My husband told me to send it back to have them cook it more. After eating one bite and smelling the nasty meat smell I couldn't bring myself to even think of trying to eat it again. My husband asked for his traditional Hackney burger medium-well. The burger was so dry that the bun that it was sitting on didn't even have a single drop of juice. My husband said it was definetly not a fresh burger and it was so dry and had no flavor at all. We will never eat their burgers again. I will say that the onion loaf was pretty tasty, although it seemed a bit over cooked. My husband had an iced tea and I had water and our bill for this meal was $32.00. Outrageous!! One day I am going to have my own website with a review of all Chicagoland Burgers....too bad for Hackney's...their review will not be a good one.
Pros: onion loaf
Cons: everything else
