My wife and I were to move in on November 1st as agreed. I had already prepared the move by packing our belongings and such and spoke to Kris Knox and made sure that the property was in proper order for us and he told us that he and his wife had made the property ready for us. My wife and I along with our two young children made the 70 mile drive to our new home expecting that everything be in order but we were horrified to discover that not one thing had been repaired on the property and it was dirty still as Kris Knox had not yet ?turned over? the property. \r
I will never forget the expression on my wife?s face when she saw the home for the first time. I will never forget the phone call I made to Avalon Real Estate owner Kris Knox detailing my disappointment and frustration with him and his services. He responded with stale statements and put all the problems on our shoulders. I had to pay out of my own pocket many of the repairs including wiring and installation on new power box, light plumbing, and cosmetic repairs. I also did all the cleaning and light maintenance on the property and still made payments. We finally had enough in February and gave notice that we needed to move because the conditions of property were now affecting the health of my children and our stability as a family. \r
We contacted Avalon Real Estate in both writing and by phone about breaking our lease but were denied it. We contacted the Attorney General?s Office and reported our concerns but had to move before anything substantial was done about our claim. The amount of money we lost on this property and the stress of the whole experience has caused us much trouble and hardship. Never did I believe this would happen to us.\r
So when I say that Kris Knox is a deceptive agent/property manager it is because he is.\r
Pros: N/A
Cons: General disappointment.
