I contacted my mortgage guy last week to ask about refinancing my home. He pulled my credit and lo and behold, I have FOUR collections items from PAM all dated September, 2007. What the heck? It has taken me 5 years to rebuild my credit after a bad divorce and out of nowhere, my credit is now ruined. I have been seething since last Sunday but finally got the energy to contact PAM. I was informed that they have me listed for four different parking or speeding tickets that I have never ever heard of. I asked for documentation and they had none to offer. I told them that I planned to investigate through DC govt and they told me that if I pay the tickets to DC, I would not get credit for them. They also said that even if I pay the $800 that they say I owe, they still would not remove them or update my credit report. This is a scam. I am so depressed right now. I hope DC gets off their ducks about this. I am an honest taxpayer. No criminal record. A decent working citizen. This just makes me feel so ill. There is no justice for those who do the right thing. If anyone has advice for me, please let me know.
