It is clear to me why people from Olympia and Lynnwood would brave the congested freeways of the Seattle Metro area to make it out to Kent for Sabrina's, a culinary breath of fresh air compared to ho-hum, ""ate there, drank that"" environment of Seattle. Not only were we greeted and waited on by Masood Ahawi, the friendly catering manager of Sabrina, but other family members who have been running this four-month old restaurant came to our table and made us feel at home. Their chicken kabobs are served the way I remembered then in the Med -- not on a skewer, delicately marinated and grilled yet tender and juicy -- but the risotto was so delicious, I was tempted to lick the plate (they did say to make ourselves at home). Though I am allergic to most dessert foods, I took a small taste of the samples of lavendar-infused ice creams, and was tempted to eat them without a care for my health -- they were irresistable! If that was all, I would already recommmend this restaurant purely on the food for value and excellent service. BUT wait, there's more! Bellydancing on Saturday night is on the bill, featuring most of Seattle's best middle eastern dance performers. Mr. Ahawi also indicated that there will be promotion of other kinds of music, so if you are a world music lover, that is indeed good news. The restaurant is equipped with a sound system for live music, and is spacious enough for live entertainment. Your trip into Kent for Sabrina's will not disappoint!
