I had eaten at this restaurant twice before over the last three or four years while visiting my bother or sons living in the Cities. The service was always prompt and curtious- until yesterday. We got to the restaurant about 8:45 AM. They did not seem to be busy. There was only one other table taken in the south dining room when we got there- but it took about 15 minutes to order and another 20 to 25 minutes to get our order. (The lady at the next table speculated that they must have went to Bagdad to get our order.) When we got our order my brother's eggs were not cooked- he had asked for them over easy. we expected the yoke to be runny, but the egg white was runny too. When we asked the waitress about them she defended the cook by saying if you want the whites cook- you have to ask for them over mendium- must be a local thing that I am not aware of. She did offer to get him new eggs but he said he would eat the raw ones. A few minutes later a rather hefty gentleman- we thought he was the cook, came out and asked what the problem was- he was very intemidating- standing over us and obviously acting like an aggressor rather than a mediator. He offered to make different eggs- half heartedly I would say and they said with what the three of us thought was a very demeaning tone that he hoped the rest of our day was better. Turns out he ran the cash register when we paid the bill and he again told us that we were all wet and to have a nice day anyway.\r
It use to be a treat to go there- not anymore- in my opinion, the waitress and managers need customer relations training very badly.
