Pfau's is a wonderful place for your general hardware needs. They have everything from screws & picture hooks, to gardening tools and plumbing supplies. The best thing is the extremely knowledgeably and helpful staff. They are really great if you don't know exactly what you need. I've had several occasions where I have walked into the store, described the problem I'm having, and they've been able to tell me how to fix it myself. They also are a great resource for recommendations on pro's to do the job if you're not a real do-it yourself type of person.
