My husband and I live in Edmonds. We're often drawn to the hustle and bustle of Chanterelle's, but when we dine, we're always disappointed by the food. This morning was no exception, We were seated quicky for breakfast and the food came out promptly, but like all of our other visits, it was NOT HOT and FRESH but lukewarm. You could tell the potatoes were pre-prepared, probably sitting on a steamer, barely warm and the serving size sparse. My eggs benedict, was good, but once again lukewarm.\r
Another bummer is that they don't have a deep fryer. So instead of getting some hot frys with your $10 plus dinner sandwich, you get bagged chips. I wonder how hard it would be to invest in something that most people long for and expect? Everyone loves frys! \r
I really LONG TO LOVE Chanterelles, the ambience is bright and cheery, the location is prime but the food to me is average and the portion sizes are nothing to write home about. If they jazzed up the menu and made sure the food came HOT and fresh, it would get a much highter rating. I'm giving it two stars because my husband and I always get lukewarm food and we don't feel like there's anything on the menu that you can rave about....just average food you could make better at home. We hope someday it will improve!\r
Pros: Great people, cheery ambiance, it's Edmonds!
Cons: Lukewarm food, skimpy portions, average menu
