In my early 20s, Dallas Alley, West End and Deep Ellum were the happening areas in Dallas. In the summer, bands played a few nights a week, food joints were plentiful and bars were hoppin'. Anyway, a few weeks ago, my wife and I had an opportunity to spend a few days in DFW. Since she had only flown thru DFW, we thought we'd stay downtown and hang out in the local areas.
Pros: Hotel Indigo was worth the money.
Cons: Too many homeless, empty shops and run down buildings.
