My husband and I went on our 2-week honeymoon, and I boarded my 9-year-old Chihuahua with Dr. Shell. When I dropped her off, she weighed 5 lbs. When I picked her up, she weighed 2.5 lbs., and she died of starvation the following day. Dr. Shell and his staff failed to feed her or remove her from her cage for the entire two weeks she was boarded with them, and she literally atrophied...couldn't even stand when I picked her up. The vet who tried to save her said it was one of the most tragic and unnecessary deaths she had ever seen. I would avoid Dr. Shell and his practice if I were you!
