This beach is a really nice one that most people overlook in NYC. Only about 15 miles from Brooklyn Heights, Riis park has nice sand and is much less crowded than the Long Island beaches.\r

Nice for a quick beach fix getaway, especially for the Brooklyn and Manhattan crew.
Pros: Its a nearby beach in NYC!, nice sand, not too crowded
Cons: A bit dirty like any city beach, need a car
