James, the salon owner, is a master at cutting my wavy hair. He doesn't wash/wet it before he cuts...he just brushes it out, and cuts it when it is dry, so that he can see the way my hair bends when it is dry. Frankly, people SEE your hair when it is dry, so it makes sense to cut it when it is dry. That way, James can tell how it is going to look as he is cutting it. I'm kind of ""cheap"" when it comes to spending money on beauty, but I'm willing to pay the extra price to have James cut my hair. He also does my color very well too. Over the many years of my coming to see him, he's become a good friend, as well, and we always have interesting conversations. As one of the other reviewers said, the salon is a bit ""quirky"" and has a lot of personality, but it can be a bit cluttered at times. But, it is all overlooked because I know that I always walk out with a great haircut, and to me, that is the most important thing.
Pros: Experience of the stylist
Cons: Ambience could be overwhelming to some, at first. But, it's worth it!
