Tasy traditional Moroccan food 5/24/2007

My wife and I visited Babouch for our 9th anniversary celebration. We were sat at a low round table. We were immediately given menus and a cocktail list. The restaurant was well decorated and it made you feel like you were in Morocco. The waiter was friendly and made suggestions regarding our order. Prior to the meal being served, the waiter brings over a large bowl and a pitcher and pours warm water over your hands for washing; a nice traditional touch. The food was excellent! Very tasty and we enjoyed it very much. However, the portions are very small. If you are looking for a lot of food and are very hungry, this is not the place for you. But again, the food was excellent. During the meal, the belly dancer performed two dances and then we were all invited to dance with her. I did so, and held my own pretty well if I might add. This is a relaxed atmosphere, so if you are in a hurry and want ""chop chop"" service, this also is not the place for you. This is a restaurant where you relax and take your time and enjoy the decore, the dancing, the food and the people you are with. Allow approximately two hours; this is not McDonalds or Wendy's. Additiionally, unless forks are requested, you eat with your hands. You are given a small towel to use to wipe your fingers and to use as your napkin. After the meal, they again wash your hands. Pros: Excellent food, very tasty. Cons: Small portions more
