I love this place! I used to do my laundry in scary places with dirty floors, and screaming children. I literally dreaded it, until I found the Rumor Mill! I'm able to do my laundry in their clean front loaders, while I sit comfortably in the adjacent cafe. The ambience is nice, though sometimes it can get a little crowded. However, the food is excellent. The Goat Cheese and Walnut salad is a favorite, although I usually go for the Roasted Pepper and goat cheese sandwich. It's Ammmmazing. Also, the place just makes you feel like being creative. It's perfect to sit and read, or work on something you're writing, or just search the net with their free wireless.
Pros: Food, ambience, creative atmosphere, semi-secret location, outside seating
Cons: Parking is kind of a pain, especially when you're lugging a laundry basket for a block and a half.
