My boyfriend raves about this place. He always talked about taking me here. He finally had his chance last night. At first I was a little apprehensive about The Father's Office after reading the reviews. When we arrive all tables were packed so we stood and drank our first beer. I was dismayed at the sight of one guy literally standing inches from an occupied table. Once the occupant got up not even 10 seconds went by that he claimed the table, and while the occupant's partner was still sitting!
After 45 minutes we finally got our table. The bartenders were quite helpful and suggested a brew to go with the Office Burger and sweet potato fries. I took a bite of the burger and I was amazed. I HATE blue cheese, yet on this burger I didn't taste it too much. Maybe the beer pairing helped. The burger was savory and moist and almost melt in your mouth. The fries are phenomal. The food and brew are excellent.
I was disappointed when our girlfried showed later in the evening and she wasn't allowed in due to maximum occupancy regulations. What can you do? Oh well.
The thing those who haven't been here before need to keep in mind is that this is a local pub, not a restaurant. There is no hostess. Seating is limited and you do have to stalk a table if you want to sit and nosh. It is quite loud and crowded, as pubs usually can be.
Pros: Excellent food and an awesome selection of brews not commonly found elsewhere
