I called a lot of places to detail a black car I'm keeping for the long haul. This car is the one that I've always washed and waxed myself because all the other ""brushless"" places inevitably left swirlmarks. Another detailer didn't know what they were doing and completely scratched my SUV. Their efforts to correct what they did with even a rotary buffer failed, and I was resigned to considering a new paint job. I picked Mike of Santa Monica Auto Detail after doing a general yellow pages search, and more than a couple autobody shops gave him glowing recommendations. His service is mobile, and that's real convenient for me. Mike took all the necessary steps and made it look like the prior damage never happened. I'm completely satisfied. He's attentive to the craft of detailing, and when I asked, he took the time to explain to me what he did and why. What I appreciate most is that he's extremely patient and took the time to listen to what I needed. The work he did for me took longer than originally estimated, most likely because the work was more extensive than originally planned. However, he didn't charge me any more than his original ballpark figure that was already lower than I expected. I'm definitely having him take care of my second SUV, and because his work is more affordable than I expected, I'll have him back for my third car that I originally hadn't considered detailing. He's definitely someone that cares about his work and his customers. Mike, if you're reading this, thanks for the great work!
