Salvadoreno Food!!! 2/1/2007

Try the pupusas. Tortillas filled with pork, cheese, and beans, and combination thereof! Breakfast try the platanos fritos, fried plantains...served with authentic sour cream from El Salvador and frijoles molidos. They use a type of beans called silk beans, frijol de seda, smooth taste. For dinner try the Bistec Encebollado, onion steak with a side of frijoles, rice, and handmade tortillas. To drink try Ensalada de Fruta, made with passion fruit juice with slices of mamey and maranon, (cashew fruit). And if you have some room for dessert, try the empanadas de platano, plantain fillings. Most pricey plate on the menu is $12.50, most plates average less than $10. Very economical! Pros: Great food Cons: A bit small, they have a bigger location in the West Side of Phoenix more
