Dr. Weingarten spent about 3 minutes with my daughter and concluded she needed tubes in her ears. Not feeling comfortable with him and that conclusion, since he did not do any other tests, I FLEW my daughter to Los Angeles (where I am from) and went and saw another ENT - recommended by Tenth St. Pediatrics - one of the best groups in Santa Monica. Dr. Chip Miller in Santa Monica, did a hearing test, along with a few other tests and determined my daughter's hearing was perfect and her ears were also completely clear. There was absolutely NO need to get tubes - at least not now. He gave us 3 options before the final option of getting tubes. He said, if it were her daughter, he would wait and see. Not everyone has the resources to fly their child out of state, but I AM GLAD I DID IT. I almost subjected my daughter to surgery at the whim of Dr. Weingarten, who made a split decision. I was most unimpressed with his level of care and the service I received at his practice. Whatever you do - get a second opinion and try to avoid this one if you can. The practice is too busy and Dr. Weingarten was too busy making money off everyone to take the time to properly diagnose my most beloved daughter. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS DOCTOR and always go with your gut instinct. I am calling his office today to cancel the surgery I had already scheduled (oh, they were sure to have me schedule a surgery by the time I left too). Be careful with your precious children!!! Look for other doctors!
