The Farm had been recommended to me by friend. I had a childhood friend in town that I had not seen in over 20 years and decided to give it a try. We had great drinks and dinner and we were enjoying great conversation until we were told (in so many words) by the hostess to move along since they had more people to be seated. I could maybe understand that line of thinking if it was a weekend not a Wednesday night at 8:40. The one couple who was waiting was seated at a table and another couple at the bar was seated at a table so I am not exactly sure why it was so important to run us off and ruin our dining experience. Now, I have experienced many restaurants in all parts of town. Many of them are fine dining restaurants that this area has to offer. I just find the whole experience of the ""hostess"" coming to our table and saying that to us as very unnecessary. It has givien me a bad thoughts about this establishment because I find it to be so rude and not a good way to handle the situation! If the table was truly needed for other customers I am sure there was a much nicer way to handle this situation. I realize that we were done with dinner and we were done with drinks and we wanted no dessert or more drinks. In the future they should think about not being so rude to their paying customers. By the way, the food was good and the waitress was excellent. I just feel that Portland has so many restaurants that have a lot to offer. So when on does something such as this why would I need to go back there or tell any of my friends to go there!
