My husband and I purchased a Puggle puppy from Pet City Pets on 09/14/07. A couple of hours later our puppy was coughing. I contacted Megan the very next day and she arranged a visit to Michigan Avenue Animal Hospital, where they diagnosed my puppy with Kennel Cough. She was given a penicillin shot, an antibioticic, and cough tablets. On 9/22/07, we took our puppy to All Creatures Animal clinic, which is the clinic that services the animals from Pet City Pets. We provided the vet with the records from the first visit for our dog. The vet prescribed another cough medicine. My husband took our puppy back to All Creatures Animal Hospital on 10/06/07 and our puppy ended up having a bladder infection and had to be put on more antibiotics and two other pills for the bladder infection. The vet asked how our dog's cough was and my husband said it was a little better and she said that our puppy was still coughing because her collar was to tight. The vet said our puppy would need to be seen in another 3 to 4 weeks. In the meantime, our dog's cough became worse and I made another appointment for a vet near my home on 10/27/07. This vet ended up doing x-rays and found that our puppy had pnuemonia and prescribed another, stronger antibiotic. When I called Megan from Pet City Pets, she pretty much said it was my fault that the puppy was sick and that I should been able to see the signs and that it is not their responsibility. My puppy has been very active and eating well and gaining weight. I was very upset to read these other reviews and find that on other occassions this store has sold sick puppies with the same illinesses and claim that it is not their responsibility. This store should be put out of business. I am just glad that we were able to give this puppy a safe and loving home where she is and will be taken care of properly. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM PET CITY PETS! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS THEY SELL OR THE PEOPLE THAT BUT THEM! IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY FOR THEM.
Pros: I was able to purchase a beautiful puppy
Cons: The employees do not care about the animals or customers
