I was anticipating the opening because it is a great location and such a beautiful restaurant. I watched it being built. When I got the first opportunity to go, I took it. I called and made reservations. I showed up and the receptionist couldn't find my reservations? You have to realize that I made the reservation a week in advance and called an hour before to confirm. There's strike one. After a 15-minute wait, we were seated. The table we were seated at was about 2'-2.5' wide. With the candle, salt & peppershaker, wine glasses, and water glasses, my fiancee and I had no room to read our menus. Our waitress greeted us and our cocktail orders were taken. We promptly received our cocktails and water. We didn't see our waitress again until 20 minutes later when our cocktails and water glasses were empty. She took our food order and filled our water glasses. Forty minutes elapsed after that before we got our food and more water. No explanations or apologies about the delay. There's strike two. When we started in on our food we found that both our meals were cold. There's strike three. My fiancee and I enjoy dining out and we ALWAYS give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. Even after such poor service and less than mediocre food we were going to go back in a months time because stuff happens. Have you ever seen Groundhog Day the movie? Well, the next time we decided to go it was a repeat of the first time! We would have complained to the manager of the restaurant but with the staff of 30+ people not one person stopped by to ask how we were doing, if we needed more water, or how were our meals? The managers stood around taking notes, the wait staff walked by looking but not seeing, and the bus staff walked by with blinders on. I filled out two comment cards, one for each visit, and received a call from the assistant manager for the first visit. I felt compelled to warn other diners since the owner probably did the last review
Pros: The setting is beautiful.
Cons: Everything but the setting.
