I took my pickup in for an oil change. The servie attendant said that I had three oil compartments that needed to be changed. What he failed to mention was that the transfer case, front & rear differentials do not need to be changed until 150,000 miles. Early service would be at 100,000 miles. As I had no idea what he was talking about and in general very trusting of people I said to do the work. I called the Ford helpline to check how often these need to be serviced because I thought $244 for an oil change rather expensive, the Ford representative said that only dishonest service stations tell you that it needs to be changed sooner. What they did was not illegal but ethically/morally wrong.
