I had heard bad things about this pet store from various people. That the animals are usually sick and whatnot. However my boyfriend and I had fallen in love with one of the puppies there, he's a pedigree came from a breeder, full championship bloodlines the works. This was about 4 months ago. Ever since we brought him home he's been sick. He is still sick to this day. The 2nd day we had him we noticed his urine was bright red, he had a very bad UTI. He needed meds for that, and he had kennel cough...which we put him on meds for. Not even a week later we found out he had mange. BAD. In the first two month's of owning him we spent well over 2000 dollars on meds, tests, and general care for him. Mind you we dont mind caring for him as he needs it, but it is just ridiculous that we pay 1000.00 for a dog and end up spending another 2000.00 on him in vet care within a couple month's. Not to mention that he has a heriditary mange that will be with him the rest of his life. Like I said we love him and will do anything for him, but there are people who may not be able to provide for a sick animal the way we've been able to. I wonder how many animals end up abandoned, or put to sleep due to the owners not being able to dish out a grand here and a grand there for their animals care. The pet store is wrong for not checking out the breeders who NEVER should have bred dogs with Demodectic mange in the first place and for not informing the buyers that the health of the animal, and breeders background are not a priority. I feel so bad for the animals that are bred not out of love, and bettering of a breed but strickly for money. Pros: Average prices. Cons: Uninformed staff, the buy from puppy mills. more
