The food preparation and presentation are splendid. The gelato is an experience all its own, just try to decide which of the approximately 30 flavors you want to taste. And by the way, they do give samples! Live jazz music on some nights. Staff is not always knowlegeable but very friendly and courteous. Get to know the owner, he's a grad from U of D who turned Newark on its ear with his upscale European flair. If the great food and gelato doesn't bring you back, and it will, he has the most ingeneous marketing ideas I have EVER seen from a restauranteur. Newsletter by snail mail and emails, both having clever coupons and promotions, such as, bring in the jigsaw puzzle piece he mailed you and see if it fits into a puzzle of a classic painting. If it fits you win a generous $ prize toward food. If it doesn't fit, you still get a free dinner or lunch! Sign up for his email contact list for free birthday and anniversary dinners. Unbelievable! And the kicker is, he doesn't have to do this, the food is superb!
Pros: Great food and home-made gelato in many flavors, validated parking, cafe seating under canopy out front
Cons: Tables are a little tight due to long narrow floor plan. Staff could be more knowlegeable.
