If you're from out of town (or have never been to Universal Studios/Universal City Walk) it's definitely worth a visit. Universal Studios meets up with Universal City Walk so if you really can spend your entire day in one place and be exposed to a ton of entertainment. Universal City Walk has a huge movie theatre, which includes an IMAX theatre, a bowling alley, numerous restaurants and shops. They also have performers on the Walk. There's fun for everyone. It is a little pricey but, if you can take the expense, it's a cool place to go. You have to try it at least once.
