I took my car in for brakes, and they told me I needed some additional, very expensive repairs. I was NOT happy, and told them not to do the work, that I wanted a second opinion. The manager called back and, after some further testing, found that the problem was not what they'd originally thought. It ended up being included in the price of the normal brake job. Not sure if it was a scam initially, but they resolved it and made it right in the end.
